The waters off the coast of theOP-Olympic Peninsula offer one of North America’s finest vantage points for up-close viewing of humpback whales, gray whales, resident and transient orca whales, and the elusive minke whale. The Olympic Peninsula is part of their migration route, as they switch from rich northern waters used for feeding to their warmer, shallower calving grounds. Prime whale watching season on the Olympic Peninsula runs from May through October.
